Los rodamientos de rodillos cilíndricos tienen un conjunto de elementos rodantes de una o varias hileras basado en rodillos cilíndricos. A diferencia de la bola, el rodillo tiene una mayor superficie de contacto perpendicular al eje del rodillo. Como resultado, puede transmitir mayores fuerzas, tiene mayor rigidez y permite diámetros más pequeños de los elementos rodantes con la misma carga.
